All donations made via the options below will go 100% to Mayatan's scholarship program. If you are interested in having your donation matched with a student (a "sponsorship") please email fundraising@mayatanfoundation.org in advance of making your contribution. Online Credit Card Donation
Make a tax-deductible donation right now via JustGive.org, a U.S.-based non-profit organization that has been processing online donations for other non-profits for 10 years. JustGive.org will send your donation to Hope for Tomorrow, Inc., in Massachusetts, which will then pass it along to Mayatan.
This secure website is the fastest way to make a contribution, and the easiest way to make automatic monthly recurring donations. You will receive an automatic electronic receipt for your gift immediately.
NOTE: JustGive.org subtracts 4.5% from every donation to cover the cost of credit card company fees. To ensure that your entire donation goes to Mayatan, send a check directly to Hope for Tomorrow following the instructions below.
Steps to donate online via credit card
- Decide upon a gift amount and a purpose for your gift (general support, scholarships, special projects, etc.).
- Visit Hope for Tomorrow's donation page at JustGive.org.
- Enter your donation details, including gift amount and optional recurring gift and dedication information.
- Designate your gift. You will notice that "Mayatan" has already been entered as a designation. Please enter any other notes or instructions under "Designate my donation." For example, if your gift is a scholarship intended for a particular student, you might enter "Mayatan - scholarship for Juan Smith." If you were supporting our library, you might enter "Mayatan - library."
- Follow the instructions for securely entering your personal and payment information on the JustGive website.
- Receive your receipt via email from JustGive.org.
- If you decide to pass along your name and contact information when you donate, we will be in touch with you soon.

This is the best method for ensuring that 100% of your donation goes to Mayatan.

Why Mayatan?
By now, we think you probably know that Mayatan is different from other bilingual schools and NGOs in Central America. We are locally-founded, women-founded, and non-profit. We use a permanent Honduran staff and qualified volunteers from English-speaking countries to provide a well-rounded education to some 300 students from PK-12th grade.
Our work helps ensure that Honduran children from all social backgrounds aren't left behind by the rest of the world. We have been transforming bilingual education for over 20 years with the help of generous local and international supporters like you. Read some of the stories of students whose lives we've changed.
Your Gift at Work
Your donation will be matched with a specific scholarship student, and we will send you updates on the student's progress as they continue at Mayatan. You may specify a student, or we can choose one for you. Either way, 100% of the funds we receive will go towards a child's education. If you would like to make a monthly recurring gift, you may do so using your credit card or your bank's online checking system. Contact fundraising@mayatanfoundation.org for more info.
Book Donations
In addition to monetary support, we great way to help Mayatan is by donating new and gently used books (Spanish or English language). While we appreciate all book donations, please see our Amazon Wishlist for specific books our librarian would like to receive. Donations may be sent to a courier in Miami, meaning that you are only responsible for the cost of shipping to this American address! Please contact info@mayatanfoundation.org if you are interested in sending books our way. Donations of technology equipment, musical instruments or sports equipment are also appreciated.
