Erlin is in 6th grade this year and has been at Mayatan since Kindergarten. Although he did have to repeat first grade he has come a long way—he had a 90% average in fifth grade—and we are all very proud of him. Erlin comes from a very poor family and has 4 younger brothers. Through the help of some former teachers he and his family were able to move out of their dilapidated home just before the ceiling crumbled and caved in, but school fees are still too much for them to afford.
